Goodman, the international real estate group specializing in the development and management of logistics platforms, have today announced the laying of the first stone of a new platform developed for Carrefour in Nimes.
The new platform is expected to be delivered mid-2016 and includes a warehouse of 68,000 m2, with T5 lighting in the warehouse and LED lighting in the offices and, according to Goodman, which meets all the requirements for BREEAM certification. Jérôme Le Bleis, the Supply Chain Director with Carrefour France, commented on the news, stating, “The modern Nîmes site meets our operational needs and is a considerable asset for the brand in the PACA region. ”
The project, developed jointly with Nîmes Métropole, is in line with Carrefour’s intentions in recent years to modernize and simplify its supply chain in order to provide optimum working comfort to its employees, while reducing the environmental impact and transport costs.
Benoît Chappey, the Development Director for Goodman France, also expressed his opinion on the project, declaring “This project is the result of effective collaboration between Goodman and Carrefour. We are happy to offer high quality facilities to our customers. Our expertise combined with our ability to collaborate with the authorities and local partners enable us to meet the needs and requirements of Carrefour. ”
Yvan Lachaud, the president of Nîmes Métropole, concluded “We are very pleased with the success of this project, which is due in particular to the quality of the collaboration with Goodman, and are delighted to welcome Carrefour to the heart of our territory. The transport and logistics sector has always been a strong economic centre for our region, and this new project confirms the ability of our city to offer solutions tailored to business development. ”
